Kiel, demolition of university hospital

Our demolition team dismantled a former dermatological clinic including ward block and lecture theatre on the grounds of Kiel University Hospital with kid gloves, so to speak. Due to the close proximity to a cardiology department and drug filling centre, it was important to work as vibration-free as possible. We succeeded: the measuring devices did not malfunction once. We implemented a special traffic concept for the hard-to-reach buildings on the edge of the hospital site. Safety was also a priority during the demolition of the 28 metre high, asbestos-contaminated building. This meant working in the black zone on all six floors.
