Civil engineering project in Zülpich

A new distribution centre is to be built in Zülpich in just nine months - an impressive project covering an area of 60,000 square metres. ‘The dimensions are quite impressive,’ says site manager Daniel Vandrey about the project, which began with the initial earthworks in the second week of January. Within a few weeks, our team excavated more than 80 percent of all the foundations and levelled 46,000 cubic metres of ground using our tried-and-tested Cut & Fill method. This involves levelling uneven ground by placing excess soil that has been removed into depressions in the ground. A second project is also taking place on the site: the construction of an additional drainage pipe for the town of Zülpich. This is necessary because the existing sewers would be overloaded by the new logistics centre.
