New play worlds for little builders
As part of their MIThelfen project, Hariet Bägendörfer, Miriam Tegethoff, Lukas Brinkmann and Matthias Bruns provided active support for the Kita Natura - Hummelwiese day care centre in Telgte. After a request for donations, they decided to take on the design of the outdoor area in order to build a new tool corner and a border around the sandbox.
It was important for us to support this project because we believe it is of great benefit to children. A Kita (daycare centre) on a farm not only offers them loving care, but also the chance to experience nature up close. Interaction with animals and plants promotes their development, and we are pleased to contribute to this.

In just one and a half days, the team had prepared the area for the tool corner: soil was dug up, weed-proof fleece laid and bark mulch added. A small fence now provides a clear demarcation. In addition, our staff built a border out of robinia trunks around the sandbox, which not only provides a nice look, but also keeps the sand in place.
The children and the daycare centre (a German term for a nursery) team were thrilled with the new play facilities. ‘It was really, really cool and the end result is super nice,’ said Friederike Risse, head of the daycare centre. The children were particularly enthusiastic about the newly created tool corner. There, the kids can now work with different tools and discover completely new skills.
